This year, Grace has picked up the cello and joined the middle school orchestra. She is really good. She made first chair pretty much immediately. She didn't even know that meant she was the best. The kids really depend on her music abilities that she came in with. She is teaching herself all kinds of fun things on the cello and likes to play her hard rock songs instead of practicing the boring method book. I'm pretty proud of her for using music in her life like she does and I'm amazed at how easily it comes to her.
When they perform, they girls are required to wear black skirts, unless you play the cello. Lucky for Grace! She gets to wear pants. It makes her pretty happy.
